[1] 1797, Jan. 31, to Dr. Romeyn [2 p.] : Is happy his son will study for ministry in Schenectady in Dr. Romeyn's house. Sends several religious books. [2] 1797, Feb. 22, to John Blair Linn [2 p.] : Gives son advice about habits and courses of study. [3] 1798, April 20, to "Sir" [2 p.] : Thanks him for gift of sermons. Discusses missionary societies in New York State, and "social prayers" among several denominations. [4] 1798, Nov. 15, to Ashbel Green [2 p.] : Asks for receipt for subscription to widows' fund. The sickness in New York has vanished. Is convinced that it was sent by God to demonstrate need for humiliation and repentance.
